DIY DAY OF THE DEAD FLOWER HEADBAND

cdfd2c5ef5a43994765cf79a2bdf51de View PostDay of the dead is a Mexican holiday that is celebrated throughout Latin America and the United States. It is the day that we pay our respect for all those souls that have passed on and left this world. Many people celebrate this holiday by making altars filled with colorful flowers and food as offerings either in their home or on the graves of the deceased. While others celebrate by dressing up in vibrate clothes and painted skulls on their faces. It’s a day to celebrate the life of those who could know longer be with us. A time to reminisce with friends and family.

Things You Need:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Pair of scissors
  • A headband (If you buy a headband with a bow or anything on top of it make sure to remove it for this project)
  • Fake Flowers (Depending on the look your going you can choose as many or as little colors as you want)

The beauty of this project is that it is super affordable to make. I went to my local Dollar Tree Store and bought everything you see here expect for my glue gun. If you do not have a Dollar Tree check out your local 99 cent store instead. I spent a total of $3.00 making my day of the dead headband. A head band that normally runs $20 and over.

You start off by cutting or pull all the flowers from the steams. Then you just glue them on to your headband. It’s just that easy!

Check out the video below for a more detail view on how I made my headband.
